Restless Leg Syndrome

I have an on-going problem with restless leg syndrome (RLS), mostly at
night while I'm trying to sleep. I am T2 diabetic or perhaps I should
say pre-diabetic. I keep my blood glucose readings within the healthy
norm most of the time but occasionally it will ramp up above 140
mg/dL. It always drops back below 140 within a couple of hours after
the meal that caused the spike.

I have also developed melanoma on my scalp and before my dermatologist
discovered this it had metastasized throughout my body. I am now at
the end or a round of chemotherapy involving intravenous infusions of
Yervoy (ipilimumab) and all seems to be going well. I have had no
serious side effects and feel very well in general, but I can't sleep
at night without waking up frequently with twitching leg muscles.

Is there any known drug or vitamin/mineral supplement that would help
me get this under control? I've found that I can take a 5 grains (325
mg) aspirin tablet just before going to bed and this seems to help but
it doesn't completely eliminate the problem. Also, I don't think I
should take aspirins regularly, although my heart/circulatory system
seems to be in very good condition. I'm a 79 year ole white male and
have no other serious health problems. Gordon

[alt.health.diabetes is a bogus group, which might/will lead to few, if
any, responses, so I am cross-/re-posting this to the right group,
alt.support.diabetes, and settings followups there. (Or did you (Gordon)
intend to post to MISC.health.diabetes?)]

Magnesium could help but do talk to your Dr. before taking it.
